Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer shall optimise the efficiency and performance of Landscope by effectively coordinating and monitoring the activities of each core function. The COO role, focusing therefore on mainly internal affairs, will enable the CEO role to focus on strategy and function more effectively as the public face of the company, and thereby handling all outward-facing communication, business community relationships and stakeholder management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provides an excellent framework for creating efficiencies throughout the organisation.
- Leading and improving all areas of operations using a variety of methodologies
- Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so
as to meet agreed operational performance plans within agreed budgets and timelines. - Lead and implement a quality service culture within the organisation.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls exist and develop new controls to guarantee
efficiency and quality. - Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of
operational management and development. - Evaluate and monitor performance of existing services across Landscope.
- Manage and motivate on a day-to-day basis the operational teams.
- Ensure appropriate tools and IT systems are deployed across the operations.
- Ensure that Landscope adopts emerging business best practice, regulatory
requirements and the future ICT developments. - Determine, implement and periodically review the ICT security requirements and
disaster recovery plans. - Responsible for identifying and reporting on corporate KPIs across all functional areas,
addressing deficiencies when detected, providing advice on actions to address
performance improvement. - Ensure quality management procedures and controls are robust and adhered to.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of services, processes and procedures to enhance the
customer experience and or improve operational excellence. - Review and approve expenditure for operations.
- Monitor and report on functional KPI’s across the organisation.
- Prepares ad-hoc reports and Board Papers on operational performance measures.
- Submits reports to the CEO / Board, providing insight into key findings and advising on
appropriate actions / solutions with respect to operational performance. - Taking the necessary steps to ensure that reports are prepared within deadlines.
- Organising the channelling of information required.
- Guiding team members and providing advice in the preparation of reports.
- Performing a quality check on reports to ensure conciseness, clarity and accuracy.
- To act MLRO for the company/ group.
- Ensure clients files are updated regularly and compliant with AML/CFT.
- Follow on Legal matters pertaining to clients.
Minimum experience requirements:
- Strong managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience within an operational / project management
environment, of which at least 5 years should be in a Head of Department capacity.
Minimum education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management / Finance / Engineering or equivalent
- Post Graduate Degree or similar qualification approved by the Board.
