Head of Marketing and Communications
The Head of Marketing and Communications shall oversee and drive all aspects of Marketing
and Communications strategic imperatives within Landscope Mauritius, in order to realise
Landscopes’ goal of growth acceleration and effectively communicate, maintain and represent
Landscopes’ brand image in the Mauritian and Indian Ocean market.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement commercial Marketing and Communication strategies to align
with Landscopes’ business needs and objectives and audience profile - Lead the strategic development of the internal Communications programs to elevate
Landscopes’ corporate profile in the Mauritian market - Develop a consistent internal and external corporate brand messaging strategy that is
reflected across publication materials and service programs, as well as internal
marketing programs to promote a “one Landscope” view - Lead the conceptualisation of Landscopes’ current and future brand positioning and
incubate ideas to develop and grow the Landscope brand - Maintain overview across the Marketing, Communications and Public Relations
portfolios of Landscope to ensure that they are run effectively - Identify opportunities for new Marketing and Public Relations initiatives to focus and
enhance on business units that will drive company performance - Oversee the creation of the overall branding and digital marketing strategy to ensure
alignment with the Landscope brand, and monitor performance thereof - Monitor the execution of events and partnership strategies to promote brand elevation,
customer engagement and new sales - Track executions of plans and ensure that they are carried out, as per brand
expectations and conform to set deadlines - Harness customer insights data and use this to focus on brand-building activities
- Communicate with the Marketing and Public Relations team to ensure timely and
relevant promotion of property and land assets through advertisements, open viewings,
events and press releases - Analyse marketing analytics reports submitted by Manager, Marketing, to determine the
impact of marketing on customer base and develop and identify opportunities for growth - Stay informed about marketing trends and monitor industry changes to ensure that
Landscope maintains their competitiveness within the Mauritian market - Recommend overall Marketing strategy for property classes (i.e. Commercial, Land) by
overseeing the following:
- Establish key audience profiles for property classes at Landscope
- Lead market competitive activities, market intelligence and benchmarking
exercises - Develop Unique Selling Propositions, rationales and marketing calendars
- Oversee customer touchpoints across Commercial projects
- Lead the development of supporting marketing and sales materials (i.e. sales
collaterals)
- Drive and retain oversight over all Public Relations and revenue generating press and
media awareness to determine the extent of favourable positioning - Oversee the management and execution of Public Relations and Corporate
Communications activities and associated third party agencies - Drive all marketing campaigns, including digital and non-digital, from conceptualisation
to execution to achieve budget and business plans - Oversee Landscopes’ brand and reputation in the Mauritian market and develop
strategies to strengthen and solidify it further - Evaluate and solicit new marketing opportunities and partnerships to strengthen the
Landscope brand - Establish control and monitoring mechanisms to evaluate marketing activities’
effectiveness - Identify, manage and evaluate metrics, surveys, and reporting for web and social media
presence and media coverage - Oversee the conduct of deep-dive market research and analysis to create detailed
business plans on the viability of commercial opportunities (i.e. expansion, business
development) and evaluation and monitoring of existing property portfolios - Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for
Executive Management - Generate and distribute sales and marketing reports, highlighting current practices and
performance, for investor relations purposes - Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
- Drive marketing campaigns to acquire new customers and manage both new and
existing client relationships - Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders to strengthen
relationships and leverage opportunities - Cultivate, manage and maintain effective relationships with key media contacts,
advertising and design agencies to ensure maximum Public Relations exposure - Define and set the overall Marketing and Communications budget, in conjunction with
the CEO - Monitor adherence to budget on an ongoing basis to prevent either over or under spend
- Prepare work schedules for team leaders and assure coverage of critical functions such
as Reception, Telephones, Mail Preparation and Delivery and Typing - Organise and chair meetings with Marketing and Public Relations staff, as required
- Make sure adequate staff levels are in place to cover for absences and peaks in
workload - Carry out staff appraisals; manage work performance and perform on-the-job training
and coaching - Discipline and dismiss staff employees for poor performance, following Landscope
policies and procedures - Prepare work schedules and delegate work to staff and manage their workload and
output - Evaluate team’ performance in a fair and transparent manner on a periodic basis
- Provide input and recommend contemporary best practices to keep the Marketing and
Public Relations team current and competitive in the Mauritian marketplace - Develop and implement training material to maximize the Corporate Sales success and
performance of Marketing and Public Relations staff
Minimum experience requirements:
- Minimum 12 – 15 years of experience within either a Sales and/or Marketing and/or
Client Relationship Management environment, of which at least 5 – 7 years should be in
a Senior Manager capacity. - Proven track record of developing and implementing effective marketing, customer
satisfaction and communication strategies (in-depth market understanding; powerful and
innovative consumer insights generation; large multi-media and advertising budget
management; advertising, media and PR agencies management) - Proven track record working in Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Journalism or
International Relations in either the public or private sectors is essential.
Minimum education requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Corporate Communications,
Marketing or equivalent.
