Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd is the amalgamation of the following Government entities, predominantly engaged in real estate development and property management:

  • The State Land Development Company Limited (SLDC);
  • The State Property Development Company Limited (SPDC);
  • Business Parks Mauritius Limited (BPML);
  • Belle Mare Tourist Village Ltd (BMTV);
  • Le Val Development Ltd (LVD); and
  • Les Pailles Conference Centre Ltd (LPCC)

Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd translate the strategy for the promotion of the new brand linked to our national heritage. It is a heritage that includes, among others, developing Government land, commercial properties and offices for rent, technology parks, rent of conference space, a tourist village, a natural park in the south of the island, amongst others.

The foundation of Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd lies in a coordinated and well-thought management of these various resources, focused on financial results, but also integrating a high quality of life reinforced by social ties and sustainability.

Further to the 2016-2017 National Budget, Government decided to merge the undernamed entities with a view to eliminating potential or actual overlapping of functions, as well as creating greater overall efficiency in operations.

Government’s decision to bring the above-named entities, all involved in overseeing state land and property development, under a single umbrella is encapsulated in the objectives of being at the forefront to develop technically and financially viable, medium to large scale, properties for Government, for the citizens of Mauritius and for the investor community.

Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd was created on 01 December 2016.

The purpose of Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd is to eliminate the overlapping of functions, create synergies and greater value addition, get rid of wastages and improve overall efficiency in the management of Government’s prime properties and assets.

  • The State Land Development Company Limited (SLDC);

This will also result in achieving higher value-added through the mutualisation of precious resources for a smarter management and leapfrogging onto a new paradigm for developing and managing Government’s real-estate assets.

The guiding principles to be followed by Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd will be based on standards and principles of sound urbanism which puts people first and which is designed to make new agglomerations more livable, more vibrant, and more people-oriented.

Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd will also foster the principles of sustainable development in terms of economic, social and ecological integration. The projects to be developed by Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd will ensure that due consideration is given to the right balance between the need to improve lifestyle and a feeling of well-being on one hand, and preserving, on the other hand, natural resources and ecosystems on which the present and future generations depend.

In the delivery of its projects, Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd commits itself to ensuring that people will always take precedence on real-estate transactions and that citizens will never feel estranged in a surrealistic environment which does not respond to their aspirations for peace or physical comfort.

Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd will endeavour to plan, implement and deliver smart communities and developments by instilling a culture of creativity and innovation which are the key drivers for the future of Mauritius. For this to be possible, the organizational set up of Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd and its human capital should themselves be creative, forward-looking and innovative so that they can drive the change that Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd wants to bring about in terms of state property development.

Initially, Landscope (Mauritius) Ltd acted as an enabler to kickstart and support the ICT and ICT-based sector, which played a critical role in transforming the Mauritian economy.
